I am Professor and Chair of Political Institutions and European Government in the Institute for Political Science at the University of Zürich. My research interests include comparative political institutions, parties, legislatures, quantitative content analysis, European politics, and European integration. My work has appeared in many journals including the American Political Science Review, the American Journal of Political Science, the British Journal of Political Science, International Organization, and World Politics among others. My Cambridge University Press book The Politics of Parliamentary Debate (co-authored with Sven-Oliver Proksch) was awarded both the 2016 Richard Fenno Prize and the 2016 Leon Epstein Outstanding Book Award. I have also been the recipient of the Jewell-Loewenberg and Leon Weaver Prizes.
I currently serve as co-editor of the Oxford University Press/ECPR Comparative Politics Book Series and as comparative politics co-editor at Legislative Studies Quarterly.
